GENERAL
SOY WAX CANDLE BURNING TIPS
·
Prior to lighting, remove and discard ALL packaging. This includes
any bows, ribbons and hang tags.
· Keep burning candles within sight at all times; never
leave a burning candle unattended.
· Keep burning candles away from flammable materials and
out of reach of children and pets.
· Keep wicks trimmed to 1/4 -1/2" at all times.
· Trim wicks carefully as natural wicks tend to be very
delicate. You may notice your wick tends to bend to one side,
this is normal and will usually even out. If it doesn't simply
rotate your candle.
· Only burn candles in or on heat and fire resistant surfaces.
Never place them directly on furniture.
· Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches or
any combustible material. Keep wick centered.
· Place your candle in an area free from drafts.
· To extinguish either use a wick dipper, snuffer, or candle quencher.
JAR
CANDLE CARE TIPS
· Glass containers are fragile: Handle with care. Avoid glass to
glass contact when handling the lid, and don't use jars that
are cracked, chipped or scratched.
· Discontinue when 1/2" of wax remains, as glass
may shatter.
· Minimize the wax left on the sides by burning the candle
until the wax pool reaches the edge of the jar. (Usually about
one hour per inch of diameter)
· Extinguish carefully before replacing the lid.
· Soy candles tend to have a flaky crusty appearance on
the tops once they have been burned, this is normal.
TEA
LIGHTS
· Do not burn scented tea lights in an enclosed space like a potpourri
pot. (for this purpose use unscented tea lights) Be sure the
burner is well ventilated.
· If wick smokes or builds up carbon (mushroom), extinquish
flame and remove carbon before relighting.
MINI
MELTS
· Remove and discard all packaging.
· Place a Mini Melt in a suitable potpourri burner and
light an unscented tea light candle beneath.
· To change fragrances, extinquish the flame and use a
pot holder to pick up the burner and pour the liquid wax into
a lined wastebasket. Or you can harden the wax in a freezer and
pop it out into the palm of your hand! Occasionally you need
to use an old knife to pry the used wax out.
· Any remaining wax can be cleaned up with soap and water
or glass cleaner.
· Our electric potpourri pots have been tested withour melts and may be safely used. Other electric potpourri pots may overheat the wax, and are not recommended. Use a well ventilated, candlelit burner without
a lid; it should have at least a 2-1/2" top opening.
STORING
SOY CANDLES
Soy
candles are very sensitive to temperature and light, so be careful when storing them for
any extended period of time. Store candles in a cool, dry place
away from heat, direct sunlight or fluorescent light.
Storage temperature should not be allowed to exceed 80ºF
or fall below 32ºF.
Follow these guidelines when travelling as well; extreme temperatures
in your car will easily melt or freeze our fine candles.
Should your candle melt or "sweat" due to heat exposure,
simply move the candle to a climate controlled area, check the
wick to make sure it is centered and your candle will set back
up in minutes.
SOY
WAX CLEAN UP TIPS:
Soy wax
is easy to clean up for the most part, wash out your containers
easily with soap and water. Empty candle containers work great
to hold cotton balls, odds and ends, etc.Cleaning
spilled wax - We strongly suggest that you seek professional
advice from experts such as carpet cleaners or furniture refinishers.
Prevent accidents by using candles with the utmost care, as instructed.
